Dear Foxborough Resident
Hello! We are Russell Disposal, your new Solid Waste and Recycling vendor. We want to assure you that with the exception of the lower cost, and the new orange colored bags and tags, the program will remain the same. The program's price has been reduced from $160 to $126 billed bi-annually.
Foxborough currently has a five day pick-up schedule for curbside trash and recycling and uses a "Pay As You Throw" program with dual stream recycling. Residents are allowed to dispose of 1 bulky item per week. Metal/white good, televisions and computer monitors are picked up by appointment (up to 2 per week). All bulky items, metals/white goods, televisions and computer monitors placed at the curb require the appropriate tag(s). Trash at the curb must be in a barrel with the appropriate tag or Russell trash bag and at the curb by 7:00 AM.
Barrels over 35 gallons require 2 tags on the handle (weight limit 50 lbs).
DO NOT put recycling in plastic bags.
NO CONSTRUCTION material accepted.
The following Bulk items require 1 tag/Item (Limit 1 per week):
Bathtubs, sinks and toilets (porcelain/plastic)
Furniture (couches, chairs, bureaus, etc.)
Rugs, rolled up & tied, not over 25 lbs.
Stereos - VCR's
Mattress and Box Spring

The Cost of the Program is $126.00 per Household
billed bi-annually in August 2012 ($57.00) and January ($69.00)
Recycling: Unlimited Dual Stream and collected weekly
GLASS, METAL & PLASTIC

NO broken or other glass such as light bulbs, window, auto glass, dishes, glasses or pyrex is accepted.
NO paint or aerosol cans.
NO motor oil or chemical containers
NO styrofoam, flower pots, toys or plastic bags.
May be put in a paper bag and placed on top of Container one or placed next to it or in a separate bin:
Newspapers with inserts / mail / paper/ magazines / catalogs / phone books / paperboard.
Milk and juice cartons, corrugated cardboard (flattened and bundled in 3 X 3 or smaller).
No soiled paper, plastic bags or cardboard (such as pizza take-out boxes).
Recycling bins may be purchased at the Highway Dept., 70 Elm St.
Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Tuesday Eve 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Friday, 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
Vendor locations for Bags and Tags:
$1.25 for a Tag and $0.60 for bags.

NO HAZARDOUS, TOXIC OR MEDICAL WASTE can go in the trash or recycling.
DROP OFF RECYCLING
YARD WASTE: Leaves, grass, and brush (3” thick and up to 4 ft. long) may be taken to the new compost area on E. Belcher Road. Call for operating hours. Stickers are required for residents at no charge and are available at the site. Landscapers need to register.
PAINT: Mondays only (holidays excluded). Oil based paints, stains, varnishes, paint thinners (in containers more than ½ full), may be dropped off at the Highway Garage 7:30AM to 3:45PM April to November.
MOTOR OIL and oil filters may be dropped off at the Highway Garage, Monday thru Friday, 7:30AM to 3:45PM.
MERCURY ITEMS: light bulbs, thermometers, tubes, fluorescents, etc
can be brought to the Highway Dept every Monday (holidays excluded)
7:30AM to 3:45PM - open all year.
BATTERIES: (rechargeable) can be dropped off at the lower level of the library and town hall.
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE DAY is held every year in the spring. Call for information.
