COVID 19 Press Release 3/24/20

For Immediate Release - March 24, 2020

Re:  Foxborough received confirmation of its first four (4) COVID 19 Cases.

Foxborough, MA,  On Tuesday afternoon, Foxborough received confirmation of its first four (4) COVID 19 Cases. Town Manager, William Keegan reported that none of the four cases are hospitalized and that two of the cases are nearing the end of the fourteen-day cycle.  Prior to today, Foxborough had reported only one potential case that was later designated as a confirmed case by the Department of Public Health (DPH) earlier this morning.  However, later this afternoon DPH officials revised that number up to four confirmed cases when test results were later revealed to the Town.
Deputy Fire Chief of Emergency Medical Services, Tom Kenvin indicated that the increase in numbers is not a surprise as more testing and results are becoming more readily available.  The next few weeks are important in the cycle of the COVID 19 pandemic as cases will continue to increase. The Town Manager and the Deputy Chief further emphasized the significance of the social distancing and good hygiene practices that must be practiced if we are to limit the number of cases that could potentially occur in the Community.

The Significance of Staying InformedBill Keegan has been doing daily Facebook Live Broadcasts from his office to keep residents informed of the impacts to Foxborough.  He intends to continue the broadcasts until the health emergency subsides.  For more information residents can go to the Foxborough Town website for the latest information on COVID 19 at www.foxboroughma.gov. Once connected to the site, residents are directed to the Board of Health sub-site for the latest information from the Centers for Disease Control and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
