PUBLIC ADVISORY
Covid Breakthrough Case reported at Veterans Day event on November 11th
Today, November 16th, the Town Manager’s Office was informed of a Covid-19 breakthrough case of a person present at the Veteran’s Day event at the Ahern Middle School.
School Administration and the Ahern School has been notified and proper sanitation of the auditorium and cafeteria after the event on Thursday night had occurred and complied with standard schools disinfecting protocols.
Out of an abundance of caution, per CDC guidelines, we are encouraging all Veterans Day event attendees who are unvaccinated get tested and quarantine for 7 days. If you are unvaccinated and do not wish to be tested the quarantine period is 14 days.
If you attended the Veterans Day event and have been vaccinated and/or wore a mask then your exposure risk is lower and would only need to be tested if you start to develop symptoms.
For any further information, please contact the Town Manager’s Office at 508-543-1200 or Public Health Nurse Tom Kenvin at [email protected]
The above guidelines are those currently prescribed by the CDC regarding Covid-19 potential exposure and close contact protocols.
