Door-to-Door Solicitors – What You Need to Know
Published on Jun 17, 2025 09:54
Hi Foxborough,
As the weather warms up, we often see an increase in door-to-door soliciting around town. Here’s a quick reminder of what to look for — and what to do — if someone comes to your door:
What to Know:
-
All registered solicitors are issued an official license by the Foxborough Police Department.
-
They are also provided with a copy of the Town’s Do Not Solicit List. To join this list, please visit our website to sign up: Do Not Solicit Registry
-
If you are on the Do Not Solicit List and still receiving visits, it may indicate that the solicitor is not registered with the Town.
What You Can Do:
-
If you're comfortable, ask the solicitor to show their Foxborough Police-issued license. You can also refer to the Approved Solicitors List below to double-check.
-
If they are unable or unwilling to provide it, please call 911 to report it
-
Consider placing a “Do Not Solicit” sign on your door — many residents find this helps deter unwanted visits.
