ABANDONED PROPERTY

Under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 200A (Section 9A), the Town keeps a list of unclaimed (abandoned) property, sometimes referred to as “tailings.” This can include uncashed checks or other payments issued by the Town.

Each year, the Town reviews these items and publishes a notice on the Town website and in a local newspaper.

If your name, or someone you know, appears on the list provided, please complete the Request to Claim Funds in entirety and return it to the Treasurer's Office in the Finance Department at Town Hall (40 South St).

CLAIMS DUE BY APRIL 28, 2027
If there is an uncashed check you believe is your property, please download and complete the "Request to Claim Funds" form below in its entirety and return it to the Collector/Treasurer's Office at Town Hall (40 South St):

Upon receipt of the completed and signed "Request to Claim Funds" form above, a replacement check will be processed and mailed. Please be advised that the process can take approximately three to four weeks.
